DERMAPLANING & CHEMICAL PEELS
Did you know...
The skin begins to lose its glow over time?
This is because the skin’s natural shedding of dead cells slows with age, causing it to appear dull and lackluster. Though new, healthy skin exists below the surface, it is often masked by an old and uneven external layer of skin. Dermaplaning and chemical peel combination treatments help reveal healthy, glowing skin and restore a youthful appearance.
DERMAPLANING
Dermaplaning is a form of manual exfoliation similar in theory to microdermabrasion but without the use of suction or abrasive crystals.
An esthetician grade, sterile blade is stroked along the skin at an angle to gently “skim off” dead skin cells from the epidermis.
Dermaplaning can be an effective exfoliation method for clients that have couperose skin (tiny blood vessels near the surface of the skin), sensitive skin or allergies that prevent the use of microdermabrasion or chemical peels.
With immediate results, Dermaplaning reduces fine lines, smooths rough textured skin, evens skin tone, rids/reduces hyperpigmentation (dark spots), and assists in reducing milia, black & white heads, and minor breakouts associated with congested pores, and allows skin care products to be more effective by enabling them to penetrate deeper into the skin.
It temporarily removes fine “vellus” hairs allowing flawless application of makeup.
Dermaplaning is a great hair removal option for those with sensitivities to wax, or are between laser treatments and cannot wax.
***Dermaplaning can be performed alone, or combined with any of our other spa treatments.
CHEMICAL PEELS
Over 5000 years ago Egyptians used chemical peels (lactic acid) and various fruit acids for skin treatments.
Chemical Peels can be utilized to promote a youthful appearance, maintain healthy skin, and prevent chronic skin issues.
Chemical Peels are beneficial for clients with acne, oily, or thicker skin because it decreases oil production and decongests clogged pores, treats hyperpigmentation and fine lines, to medium wrinkles.
